Colleen and family

Sweet. Aren't they? I think so. This is my friend Colleen and her family. It was so nice to get to know her kids a little better. We've been friends for a while, but when we're together, our kids are all so busy together. It was sweet to watch them all together, with just little old me interupting.

Morning!

The days always start new. Fresh. We just have to fill in the blanks. That simple.
(and children seem to know how to do it best.)

I really like it. Capturing the moments, faces, expressions, relationships, and loveliness of all this present moment holds. Sometimes so easily forgotten, but hopefully a few clicks will make it easier to remember when this moment and month and year is past.

Naomi turns 3

She's my baby. Just turned 3. Nothing but thankful. No particular reason except that she's a miracle. Aren't they all?

I've got SUNSHINE

On cloudy days we sing "I've got sunshine on a rainy day, when it's cold outside, I've got the month of May..." So it gave me an idea for a background as I have been pondering our family photo shoot coming up sometime in spring. This is a work in progress. It was a cloudy day the day I took these. I found a ton of tule and had some other material and thought it would make a nice background. We had made the clouds earlier in the week with the kids and had put fishing line so that I could hang it. In the end, I should have skipped the fishing line as it is hard to see and we ended up ripping two of the clouds. But all in all they are pretty on a photo and just have to work out the background idea a bit better. So here it is...though it's really just funny because my little ones don't pose well. If someone, by chance asks the little one to smile, it's not quite a smile at all.

May 2010 Maternity

I am going to start uploading pictures from past sessions as I find them. Eventually, I hope to get a variety up here. Maternity and babies, families and couples.
This one is my friend in all her loveliness during her pregnancy with twin boys. So sweet. I enjoy maternity shoots almost as much as newborn shoots. They seem to go hand in hand, but to me they are so different.
This was shot with my Nikon D40 in or around May 2010 in my backyard.

The next 4 should be set on a film strip side by side, but it would look so tiny on this website. The series makes me smile. Kelly and her son were playing around, laughing and making rasberries on her baby belly.

This one was actually a family shoot, but the one I posted is just her in the foreground and her son and husband had walked a bit down the hill and are in the background.
